With nearly 4000 in attendance, Eric Lamb of WND Ventures shared how DPR Construction has embraced innovation with BIM/VDC during the Autodesk Forge DevCon keynote. Eric pointed to both Digital Building Components and VueOps as examples how we are maximizing data and 3D visualization to address customers’ pain points.
He also participated in the Forge customer Q&A panel discussion on advice for other large companies embarking on digital transformation of their design and make operations.

Challenging the most promising startups to become leaders of the construction revolution, the three-day event in Monterrey, Mexico, included pitches selected from submissions representing 71 countries.

Eric’s career has spanned over 35 years in the construction industry as a technical building contractor. He joined founders of DPR Construction in 1990 and was a part of a team that grew the company to be a top 20 national general contractor with more than $4 billion in revenue. Eric is currently an executive officer and member of the Board of Directors. He is passionate about developing new ways to solve problems, particularly at the intersection of process, technology and projects.
Eric received his Civil Engineering degree from the University of Virginia and completed a Master of Science degree from Stanford University.
Atul has worked in the construction industry for over 20 years with early field experience followed by development of DPR Construction’s first virtual building group over 10 years ago. He is responsible for strategic technology initiatives for DPR and has expanded the company’s use of virtual building, lean construction tools, technology and processes. Atul’s collaboration with academia and global research groups strive to move the industry forward in the use of technologies that improve the project delivery process. Atul co-authored a book entitled “Integrating Project Delivery,” published in 2017.
Atul completed his Master’s engineering program at Duke University and his PhD from Stanford University in Construction Engineering and Management.
With more than 30 years of operational and leadership experience, Derek has a background in investment management and served as the COO of McCarthy Building Companies. He currently serves as a director and board member for both Black & Veatch and DPR Construction, and is a senior advisor for Oaktree Capital Management.
After 20 years of finance and accounting at DPR, Michele became CFO for DPR Construction in 2010. Michele was named CFO of Year in the private company category by Silicon Valley Business Journal in 2013.
